Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis is currently looking for childcare/nursery care subs.  These hours include Sunday morning church hours from 8:45am-12:30pm, as well as after church hours on Sunday afternoons, Wednesdays 7:30-9:00pm, and other times during the week as childcare is needed.  Childcare/nursery care subs are not guaranteed monthly hours, however hours estimated each month can total up to 3 to 10 hours.

Overview

• The Childcare Provider provides safe, nurturing, and consistent care for children ages 0-5 during Sunday services.
• These hours are 9:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. on Sunday.
• Other times that may be arranged by mutual agreement with the Religious Educator as needed for children ages 0-11.

Duties

• Supervise all children left in their care at Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis (UUI), providing a safe and nurturing environment.
• Monitor conditions (e.g. playground, classroom) for safety and cleanliness.
• Maintain records (i.e. attendance, visitor registration) as requested.
• Other duties as assigned by Religious Educator.

Reporting Relationships

• Position reports to Religious Educator.

Qualifications

• Enjoyment of and desire to work with children
• Ability to work in a team and independently, and with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal skills, including responsiveness to the needs and concerns of participants and parents
• Ability to manage concurrent multiple priorities (requires analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail)
• Ability to provide effective feedback to the Religious Educator
• In sympathy with the mission, principles, and tenets of the UUI
