Visiting Tibetan Buddhist Monks from Dreprung Gomang Monastery in India will present workshops on the art of butter sculpture and sand painting in the Sanctuary of UUI. There will also be opportunities for children to color pictures and learn about Buddhist symbols and culture.

Workshops include a short talk on the tradition of the various crafts, as well as a short demonstration. The monks will facilitate full “hands on” participation by the public. They will supply photo step-by-step
displays of how to do each craft and, in addition, clear sample drawings can be laminated for each workshop.

Attendance is limited, so please contact Gail to preregister. Workshops will be open to the public so reserve a space soon to take advantage of this rare opportunity to learn and work with the Monks.

A donation of $15 for adults, $5 for students is requested. Children under 12 are free.
