This event is an annual December celebration of the return of light that combines stories, songs and chants in a family-friendly event for the greater Indianapolis area.
Solstice is a planetary-wide celebration of the longest night and the returning of the Light. Many religions have a Sun Child born at this time of year. This non-denominational ritual will feature readings, moments of silence, and songs that take us on a journey from the quiet of darkness to a joyous celebration of returning Light. The participatory nature of this event is perfect for families with children of all ages. When the celebration concludes, join us for an indoor feast (please bring finger foods to share!).
A pre-Solstice chili supper fundraiser will also be held in the Commons and RE Building from 5:30-6:30pm. Suggested donation: Adults $5 / Children $3. Sponsored by the junior high Coming of Age youth group.
