Come get to know other UUI families with school-aged children. Our next meeting is Friday, May 24 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the Social Hall. This month's featured topic is, "How do you handle sibling fighting in your family?"

Bring your parenting joys and struggles and find camaraderie and support. Bring your children for fun with other UUI children. Bring a dish to share. To RSVP, for more information, or to be added to the Facebook Group, contact Heather MacGumerait at hmacgumerait@att.net.

Exploration Guide for this week! | May 19

Nursery

Nursery care is available this week from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

Please note extended care times for this week. This is to enable grownups bringing children to Church to participate in the Meditation Group that meets in the Cottage before the service starting at 9:30am and gives the option of child care for the Congregational Meeting that follows the Service.

Preschool

We will read Will Ladybug Hug by Hilary Leung, about a ladybug learning to respect her friends' wishes about their bodies when saying goodbye. Do they want a hug? Some do and some do not and it's all ok! We will also play a ladybug game with ping pong balls and practice expressing our wishes in a role play exercise.

K-2nd Grade

We will be reading a really beautiful book, Julian is a Mermaid by Jessica Love. Spanish speaker, Thiana Galicia, will be reading the book to the children as it has some Spanish language incorporated into the text. We will also be sharing our joys and sorrows with our friends in a new way, and then we will have an under the sea party with snacks (cheddar and pretzel goldfish crackers), coral reef straw blowing paintings, and treasure hunting in sand.

3rd - 5th Grade

One of the tasks this class is charged with is building community and this week we will be doing just that! We share our joys and sorrows with each other while we share a snack (pretzels and popcorn). Then we will play some fun games to get to know each other better and a game that is a really nice, positive affirmation for everyone that is so important at this age.

6th - 8th Grade

The class is going to learn about atheism as part of their Building Bridges curriculum.

9th - 12th Grade

Our senior high youth are staying in the service today. There are volunteer opportunities for the service. Interested youth should check in at the RE Table in the Social Hall when they arrive at church for more information.
