K-1 OWL

There will be a parent meeting for OWL grades K - 1 on Sunday, August 28 from 1pm to 2pm at UUI on the top floor of the Religious Education Building. Childcare is available.

The Our Whole Lives sexuality education curriculum for grades K-1 can help can help educate children about birth, babies, bodies, and families. Parents/guardians will be actively involved as the children learn through songs, stories, activities and at-home projects that promote family dialogue.

Our Whole Lives (OWL) values self-worth, sexual health, responsibility, justice and inclusivity.

In six, one‐hour workshops, OWL models and teaches caring, compassion, respect, and justice. It helps young children identify their attitudes, values, and feelings about themselves, their sexuality, and others’ sexuality.

Participants are guided by trained facilitators through an engaging curriculum that addresses age-appropriate topics.

In addition to a parent meeting and a parent‐child orientation, parents are welcome to attend any or all of the workshops with their children.

Classes will rotate between participating UU churches in the Indianapolis area. Cost is $75 per child.

At UUI we never want anyone to not be able to participate in programming and events due to financial concerns and confidential scholarships are usually available for families who attend UUI and are registered in the UUI RE Program.
