Seek the truth with our youth … that’s why I do RE—

David Webb, Parent, UUI Member, RE Teacher, RE Board Chairperson

Religion means different things to different people.  I haven’t figured out what it means to me and don’t honestly expect to. I don’t worship or follow a god or prophet or really anything in particular. But I’m passionate about the power and beauty of life. Maybe that makes me religious and that’s why I belong to this church and I do RE. Our Youth Religious Education program is full of life and inquisitive minds, and provides me an avenue to learn and share with our youth the wisdom and knowledge of life found in our curriculum and our collective perspectives and experiences. Together, we seek the truth in love. It’s that simple.

I encourage everyone in our congregation to consider this opportunity to share your life’s experience and seek the truth with our youth. Please consider teaching RE. We are now identifying RE teachers for this coming school year. If interested in teaching or learning about the program, please contact me (dmwebb@indy.rr.com or 769-6571) or Karen Brown, our RE Director (uudre@sbcglobal.net or 255-0208).
