Upcoming Sunday Morning Forums

Sunday, July 6, 2008, Credo Forum, Cottage Library
Do you have ideas for healing and moving forward? To help support the Path Forward process, this Forum will focus on ways we can come together as a community. Please join us for a lively and engaging conversation. We always welcome new faces and new ideas.

Sunday, May 4, 9:15 A.M., Credo Forum, Cottage Library
Forgiveness and reconciliation are often described as spiritual practices. Join us at this Forum as we discuss ways to live out these practices here at UUI. We always welcome new faces and new ideas.

Sunday, April 6—Credo Forum, 9:15 to 10:15 A.M., Cottage Library
Can you be a Unitarian Universalist without being part of a UU congregation? Based on the figures cited in a recent report issued by the Pew Forum on U.S. religions, 76% of those who identify as UUs don’t belong to a congregation. So what is the distinctive identity of UUism that attracts these non- or barely-affiliated UUs, and how do they maintain themselves as UUs in the absence of a gathered community? Join us at this Forum as we discuss these and other related questions. We always welcome new faces and new ideas.

Sunday, March 2—Credo Forum—9:15 A.M., Cottage Library
How do you describe Unitarian Universalism to others? It is often suggested that each of us should have a prepared “elevator speech,” a short description of what our religion is about.   Join us as we share our UU elevator speeches. The Credo Forum is an open and friendly setting where we come together to discuss ideas and events from a UU perspective. We always welcome new faces and new ideas.

Sunday, January 27—Together in Community—9:15 A.M., Cottage Library
The Behavioral Covenant Task Force is still seeking your input on the proposed Community Covenant that will be up for a vote at the Congregational Meeting on February 17. On Dec. 2, folks gathered to discuss the covenant and provide thoughts about the positive aspects of the proposed document and to voice concerns and offer suggestions. The Behavioral Covenant Task Force has been working to incorporate the input received at the Dec. 2 workshop. Join the task force to discuss the changes that were made and to offer your thoughts about the proposed covenant.
