Introducing Our New Minister!
The Ministerial Search Committee and The Board of Trustees are thrilled to announce that we have a new minister!
Reverend Dr. Josh Snyder accepted the offer to be our next minister on March 26th and shortly afterward negotiated and signed a three year contract with the potential to be called by the congregation.
Rev. Josh brings so many of the attributes and skills that our congregation said they valued most, including but not limited to, intellectual and relatable high-quality sermons, an understanding of, and appreciation for, theological diversity, experience with a shared pastoral care model and successful experience leading through change and managing conflict. Rev. Josh’s references spoke about his lived commitment to social justice. He is passionate in this area and has a sophisticated understanding of social justice work. With over 25 years of experience as a minister in a variety of church settings, Rev. Josh is experienced and comfortable with a decentralized governance structure. We also know that he will be a strident supporter of our beloved RE program and he brings experience creating and leading adult RE as well. During our interviews with Rev. Josh, we found him to be affable, kind, thoughtful, and intelligent. He will be completing his time at the congregation of Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron, Ohio before joining us at UUI.
